Photo Editing

Photo effects

Have your forays into digital imaging been less than rewarding? It is a whole new world, so some learning -- and some training -- may be in order.

Your digital camera may have come with software to help you organize your photos and maybe even edit them. Have you figured out how to use it? Have you upgraded to Adobe Photoshop Elements (an image editor I would recommend to everyone from newbie to serious amateur photographers)? Either way, you may be ready for a little help.

There are so many directions to go with digital photography -- so many pieces of hardware and software, so many different projects to undertake -- that it's a perfect area for training the Simply Effective way. You don't need a cut-and-dried training class, you just want to learn what you want to learn, and you want to use the tools you have on hand.

The topics listed below represent just a few things I've seen budding digital photographers struggle with:

Where's the Snap in my Snapshot?
If some of your photos don't meet your expectations, don't be surprised. Your camera tries to make the best decisions it can about exposure and white balance, but that's tricky business. I'll teach you how to restore the "snap" in those photos, so that you have crisp black blacks and white whites, with good shadow detail and sharp highlights, too.

From Camera to Printer ...and E-Mail
How many pixels do you really need to do a given job? You bought a good digital camera -- lots of megapixels! -- but what should you be doing with those big files? How should you prepare an image for printing? ...or e-mailing? When do you need a beefy multi-megabyte file? ...and how do you produce a svelte little one when you need it? I'll teach you to resolve your resolution challenges.

Maybe you have a special project coming up that needs a careful touch with photos. Contact me and we'll work on your problems together.
